"And I saw another mighty Angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon His head, and His face was as it were the sun, and His feet as pillars of fire:
And He had in His hand a little book open:
and He set His right foot upon the sea, and His left foot on the earth, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth:
and when He had cried, SEVEN THUNDERS uttered their voices.

"And when the Seven Thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write:
and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me,
"Seal up those things which the Seven Thunders uttered, and write them not." Revelation 10:1-4

Chinese anti-tank missiles to the Gulf
The campaign has displayed the HJ-73 anti-tank guided weapon meant to penetrate explosive reactor armor. The weapon, produced by China North Industries Corp., known as Norinco, is said to contain more than twice the penetrating power of the original warhead.

Industry sources said Norinco has presented several variants of the HJ-73 to such countries as Iran, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. They include the HJ-73 and the HJ-73B, said to be based on Russia's AT-3 Sagger missile.
Iran has a similar anti-tank missile called Raad. The Defense Ministry in Teheran has asserted that the Raad, equipped with a tandem warhead, can penetrate 400 mm of armor protected by explosive reactor armor. http://www.menewsline.com/stories/2003/october/10_02_2.html

OMAN: A major U.S. base for Gulf war
The U.S. project appears to signal that Oman will be a major base in any war against Iraq. Oman had a small role in the 1991 Gulf war to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait.
The United States has helped construct three major military bases in Oman, the sources said. A key base is at Thumrait, which contains an air field and facilities for the B-1 bomber. The B-1 was moved from Diego Garcia to the sultanate.

Cruise Stealth-missiles from rogue states
NORTH Korea)
capable of hitting U.S.
Capable in some cases of taking off from ships close to shore and maneuvering below radar scanners or behind terrain, cruise missiles present a particular worry as potential platforms for delivering nuclear, biological or chemical warheads
could use rudimentary cruise missile technology to attack U.S. installations or the American homeland.
At least 81 countries are reported to have cruise missiles of some kind, totaling more than 70,000 weapons, although the vast majority are designed to go against ships at distances of less than 60 miles. Of greatest concern to U.S. officials are "land-attack" cruise missiles, which are produced by only a few major industrialized nations.

What worries U.S. authorities is the prospect of such states as Iraq, Iran or North Korea or such terrorist groups as al Qaeda taking existing aircraft or anti-ship missiles and
converting them into unmanned drones that could function as crude but still very deadly cruise missiles.
"Your car has in it all the sophisticated technology that's necessary to feed a little actuator inside of a guidance system to make a missile fly more or less where you want it to go," the Rumsfeld aide said. "If you can buy it in your automobile, you begin to get a sense of how practical it is for those kinds of weapons systems to be developed."
The U.S. government's most recent unclassified assessment of foreign missile developments, issued in December, said "many countries" see cruise missiles as a "better alternative" than ballistic missiles for attacking the United States, in large part because such weapons can be launched nearer to U.S. territory
from commercial ships. This would not only shorten the delivery time of the missiles but also help obscure their origins.

North Korea threatens U.S. bases in Far East to become "a sea of fire"

U.S. military bases will become a "sea of fire" if war breaks out on the Korean peninsula.
That's the latest threat from North Korea, while South Korea says close to 700,000 American troops would be sent to the region.
He [ Huh Ryong ] also said his country would "thoroughly" wipe out those who aid the U.S., implying allies like South Korea and Japan, both of which host U.S. bases
premier Pak Pong-Ju urged North Koreans to counter "U.S. moves for aggression with a decisive and merciless military strike

Meanwhile, a just-released South Korean defense-policy paper says the U.S. would dispatch 690,000 troops and 2,000 warplanes in the event of a serious conflict.
"The United States has a plan to send more than 40 percent of its entire Navy, more than half of its Air Force and more than 70 percent of its Marine Corps to defend South Korea," the white paper said. "This shows the United States is firmly determined in its will to help defend the Korean peninsula."
It mentioned 160 vessels and 1,600 additional aircraft would augment the troops and fighter jets. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=42733
"EAST WIND"--DF-31" Missiles : West Coast and throughout USA
Missiles from China, Iran and North Korea
"North Korea has also restarted development of its long-range Tae Po Dong missile that can reach Alaska and the western United States.
North Korean military has recently deployed over 100 No Dong missiles.

More on "East Wind" missiles
The Chinese Army Second Artillery Corps is preparing to test its new Dong Feng 31, or "East Wind," ICBM during the next few days. The DF-31 reportedly can carry a single 3-megaton H-bomb or three 90-kiloton nuclear warheads. The missile has an official range of over 4,800 miles.
"It is likely that the goal for the JL-2 is to be able to reach the western U.S. from the Yellow Sea, an area that the PLA can defend with near-current ship and aircraft resources. But of course, if the Type 094 SSBN is able to reach launch points outside this area, the JL-2's reach will increase," stated Fisher.
JAPAN fears North Korean missiles
TOKYO, Dec. 25 — With Japan increasingly worried about North Korea's missile arsenal and nuclear bomb programs, the United States has offered assurances that its Aegis destroyers are capable of shooting down medium-range missiles, the Japanese Jiji Press news agency reported today.

Japan's defense minister, Shigeru Ishiba, won the assurances from Pentagon officials when he was in Washington earlier this month, the agency said. North Korea is believed to have about 100 missiles with a range of 800 miles, enough to cover most of the Japanese archipelago.

The United States fears the plant could be used to make nuclear weapons. The atomic energy agency, which had been administering the controls, estimates that the North Koreans will have the five-megawatt reactor operational by the end of February.

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld warned North Korea on Monday not to take advantage of the Iraq crisis to further its nuclear ambitions. He asserted that American forces were capable of fighting two wars at once.

North Korea threatens to" Destroy the earth "

North Korea: a military threat
the commander of the US forces in South Korea, General Thomas A Schwartz, described North Korea as the country most likely to involve the United States in a large-scale war.

Of particular concern to Washington is an untested North Korean missile, the Taepodong 2, which some analysts believe could reach the western fringes of the US.
The Taepodong 1 tested by North Korea in 1998 demonstrated the
country's ability to strike Japan.
North Korea maintains the world's third largest army, with its ground forces numbering one million active duty soldiers.

Subject : [Arktwo] Three Ring Circus

In the center ring -
The world nuclear powers
today watch Iran.
All being done on the high wire -
without a net.
To me the events seem nigh inevitable.

While others may ignore it -
in some ways I have never seen
such suspense
since the Cuban Missile Crisis
when all the world watched -
wondering if the Russian ships would stop.

There are always some people
that will dispute the inevitability of events -
from major earthquakes on the US West coast
to Volcanic eruptions -
hundred year floods -
perfect storms -
or what have you.

The inevitability of some events
is only assured by very long geologic time periods,
others occur statistically -
with much greater regularity.

But eventually -
all men die,
all nations pass away,
all monetary
and other man made systems

Because such catastrophic events
are beyond the individual's control
many people choose to ignore them
in their day to day living.
And because such catastrophic events are rare -
in the short term -
those who ignore them are most likely correct
in their predictions
that the sun will come up tomorrow
and life will go on.

But there are other times
when the rumbling of the earth
beneath our feet
is so ominous that it will give
pause to the most blasť.
Such should be the current events.

The meteorological interactions
that combine to create a perfect storm -
the motions of the tectonic plates
that result in volcanic eruptions
and earthquakes
are beyond my comprehension.

Likewise beyond my comprehension
are the geopolitical activities
that are leading us towards catastrophe -
but just as with the wavering needle
of the seismograph in warning of earthquake
the news events of world headlines
tell us that an eruption is in the making.

Will they -
or won't they -
stop making the bomb in Iran?
No matter how great their protestation
that to make the bomb has never been their purpose -
there are few in the world
and none in the US administration
that believe it -
and THAT is all that matters.

If Iran truly wished to alleviate world fears -
and openly and clearly demonstrate
that it would not make the bomb -
it could do so,
but instead it continues to play a game of
'chicken' like the hotrod crazies of years ago
who would race headlong at each other
to see who would turn away first.

Time and again -
Iran played 'fooled you'
as they promised to drop the prize
into the European negotiators' laps -
but then their hand proved to be empty.

The US and Israel team
are thoroughly convinced
that Iran is building the bomb.
And the US and Israel
are nuclear powers
with the ability to put a stop to that -

However, on Iran's team are:
France -
also nuclear powers
and there is the conundrum.
There are now TWO nuclear team's
lined up against each other.

The question is -
"Can the US convince
the opposing team's nuclear players
to stay on the bench?"
Probably not.

So, does this mean
that the tournament will be cancelled?
Probably not.

Will Iran continue to
secretly build its nuclear weapons?
Probably so.
At least that is what the US and Israel think.

Will the US and/or Israel
strike to eliminate Iran's nuclear weapon development.
Probably so.
At least that is what I think.

It is also what
Iran thinks.
So -
Iran may strike first -
if it gets its nuclear weapons.

If Iran should get two
deliverable nuclear weapons -
then using them
on a pre-emptive first strike basis -
would be the equivalent of having
twenty nuclear weapons
and then being struck first by the US and Israel.

There is a line of thought -
that having nuclear weapons
prevents one from being struck -
and that has been mankind's experience
for the last fifty years.
That is why Iran and North Korea SAY
that they need nuclear weapons -
to insure that they WON'T be struck.

On the other hand -
Israel is a very small country
compared to Iran
and the Arab countries around Israel
so that in a nuclear exchange
a very few nuclear weapons dropped on Israel
would eliminate Israel -
and many more nuclear weapons from Israel
wouldn't eliminate their enemies.

Iran and a number of Arab nations proclaim
that it is their intention to eliminate Israel.
Consequently, Israel (and its US ally)
do not think they can permit Iran to get the bomb,
since Israel could take but a few hits and survive -
and their enemies could take many more hits and survive.

Meanwhile -
over in one of the side rings -
the Ukraine.
This I understand even less -
except that Russia
one of the Iran nuclear players
is being very irritated by it.

The US says that there may have been
improprieties in the Ukraine election.
Sort of like the kettle calling the pot black.
But the US feels that it should bring pressure
on the election decisions in that country.

Americans who cheer all US government actions
will never pause to think
how they would feel
if another country felt that it
should bring pressure on
election decisions in the US -
if there were indeed improprieties
in the US election.

And over in the third ring -
the acts regarding
North Korea
Taiwan / China
Pakistan / India
Japan / nuclear
rumble on hardly noticed
because of the drama
on the high-wire in the center ring.

Show time!

Peace and love,

Salvation hopetotheend.com/sal.html
