Bush tells charities they can have the money as long as there is no Jesus in the work
Executive order bypasses Congress
"
The order is intended to make sure that faith-based groups can retain their religious identities, including the right to hire workers based on religion, while accepting federal tax dollars. But it will prohibit the use of federal tax money for worship services, religious instruction or other "inherently religious" activity.....
The plan has critics at both ends of the political spectrum. Some liberals fear that faith-based groups would use government money to promote religious views. Some conservatives worry that accepting federal money would dilute the spirituality and effectiveness of religious charities.
Will Come Under the Control of FEMA
Bush also will direct the Federal Emergency Management Agency to revise its policies to let religious nonprofit organizations qualify for disaster relief.

Another executive order will create faith-based offices at the Agriculture Department and the Agency for International Development, to help religious charities tap into programs that those agencies run. Bush already has established similar offices at five other federal agencies.

His Philadelphia visit comes 10 days after John Dilulio, the former head of the White House office on faith-based programs, made headlines with some stinging criticism of his former boss.

In an interview with Esquire magazine, Dilulio said the Bush White House was consumed by politics and treated policy as an afterthought. Dilulio, now a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, later retracted his comments.

Turning religious organizations into secular humanists

CHARITY

All down through the ages, man has had Charity--the act of giving alms for the poor, the less fortunate. The parable of the Good Samaritan
(Luke 10:30) is the classic example. And we read of alms-giving in Acts Chapter 3 and Acts Chapter 10. So indeed,
charitable giving is ancient history.

In more recent and modern times, the classic example of Charitable Giving is seen in the Salvation Army, founded by the preacher,
William Booth. The "army" played religious songs and preached in the town-square and received offerings for the poor.
They have become our traditional "bell-ringers" at Christmas time, although they have been outlawed from most places due to the "separation of Church
FROM State". This misinterpretation says that there can be no sign of religion anywhere within secular America. It is in direct violation of what our forefathers wrote
"separation
OF Church and State", meaning no State-religion,
or State non-religion (imposed atheism, as in Communism);
or
State-controlling of religion. (registration, forms, guidelines, policies etc.)

Here is a passage from Last Days Trumpet Ministries that says it well:

A Modern-Day Golden Calf!
It was just three days ago ... when I received a letter sent to me as a pastor from the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C. As I read the letter, I was amazed at the contents and realized instantly that an illuministic plan was unfolding that would snare many. It is a plan that will prove spiritually fatal to many churches as they become attached to the antichrist himself!

The governmental letter invited me to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I and thousands of other ministers would be trained and led through the entire process of filling out grant applications for Federal money. This Federal money would be given to form a partnership between my church, ministry, and the Federal Government. The Feds are appropriating many millions of dollars to be given to money-hungry churches, who are willing to form a partnership with the beast! The shocking part is that it is not just the Department of Education that is to become a "partner" with churches but other departments as well. In part, the exact words of the letter are as follows: "The workshop will feature grant information from HHS, HUD, the Department of Labor and the Department of Justice presented by their representatives of the Centers' for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives...Ideas for partnerships with federal, state, and local governments." (23)

This is a snare with the lure of money! Exodus, chapter 32, tells the story of the children of Israel forsaking the law of God to dance and rejoice around a golden calf set up by satanic deception. We have seen the greed and avarice of religion in America, and we can only imagine how many religious leaders will gravitate toward this governmental sacred cow and go into orbit around it! Can you imagine your church becoming a partner through a money-covenant with the Department of Health and Human Services? How about the Department of Housing and Urban Development or the Department of Labor? Worst of all, can you imagine your church becoming a partner with the Department of Justice? You might wonder who would fall for such a gimmick? It is a fact that 1700 church organizations have already sunk their salivating choppers into the bait and have become such partners with Uncle Scam! (24) Thus, the trusted pastors have become modern-day Judas Iscariots by entering into a counter-trade transaction, which requires that they never preach anything that is contrary to "public policy!" Since public policy is
sin to the first magnitude of every kind, the churches are useless to the Kingdom of God and are thrust out as salt that has lost its savour! Does your pastor subscribe to this? Is your church in lock-step with this heinous plot? Find out! If so, for the love of God and for the sake of your family withdraw from it at once!
www.lasttrumpetministries.org/2002/August2002.html

And yet another quote:
"There is no question that the nation's founders meant the First Amendment to disestablish any and all religions from State sponsorship or control and to guarantee the free exercise of religion for all citizens."

"Christ's religion needs no prop of any kind from any worldly source, and to the degree that it is thus supported is a millstone hanged about its neck."
Dr. Truett was right. As long as the followers depended on nothing more than the power of God to expand Christ's kingdom all went well".....

"Present-day Baptists are bound by their own history and, more important, by the faith "once delivered to the saints" to contend (Jude 3) for it today.

Let's take a look at how convoluted this whole thing has become in recent years.

HEGEL

Hegel taught that opposing forces bring about a third result;
in other words...
1. create a crisis,
2. OVER-react to that crisis...
3. then bring in your desired agenda in response to all the chaos.
Your controlling agenda will now be accepted by society, whereas without the created-crisis it wouldn't have stood a chance.

BEWARE OF FALSE PROFITS

Now what does this have to do with religion and charity today? Precisely this.
Our government (Contract with America 94) created a crisis by dropping people from welfare rolls. There was no real reason, except for a small percentage of opportunists taking advantage of the system.

The valid overall need still remained...there were many people in need of financial-assistance (we hafta cuz of NAFTA) due to the created-crisis of downsizing and economic downturn created when trans-national corporations uprooted from America to transplant themselves to Mexico, Asia and elsewhere. These new locations allowed slave wages and prison wages which were far cheaper than our unionized wages here in America. Remember Reagan and PAPCO (Aug. 1-1982)?.....the busting of unions in the Airlines Industry? Well it trickled down all right, to mainstream USA by the time Newt and associates gave the unemployed the boot in 94.

From 1994 until now, local churches have been inundated, swamped, overwhelmed with expenditures to provide for so many. And by the grace of God they have persevered, against overwhelming odds. And, many did not make it.. Many programs went by the way-side. Many Godly endeavors had to be curtailed. Many radio and TV programs had to be shut down. Wonderful for the secularists...tragic for the church.

So now the crisis has been created. The poor are still out there....no jobs, or else jobs of "minimum wage"only, which do NOT support a family of 4 in a home, so why is it justified? Most jobs today are SUB-minimum-wage. If we're truthful, that is.
And we also have the crisis within the Church...barely en
ough funds.
Some churches have compromised, and are now social-community centers in order to keep the numbers coming.

NONE DARE CALL IT CONTROL

Now enters Hegel's #3....the devious agenda.
How about the government giving money to FBO's (Faith-Based Organizations)??
Wouldn't that be a fine partnership? The only catch is, you can't proselytize , evangelize or witness about the saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
You can't give the Bread of Life along with the bread. You can't supply authorized Bibles.

In Our Lord's letter to the Last-days Philadelphian Church , He commends them
for not denying His Word and His Name." Rev. 3:8

Would that have relevancy here? Is Christ referring to State control of FBO's?

CONSTANTINE

Think about that..."enmity"....at opposition with God.

How can they deny the Name of Jesus when dealing with the poor?
"But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven"

Quoting Mr. Land:"I cannot help but believe that working together we can find ways to successfully involve faith-based ministries as part of the solution and still respect our precious heritage of religious liberty"

Is this not Laodicean gradualism and compromise ?

Gradualism: it's as easy as 1, 2, 3....
First they help you do it your way;
then there's compromise;
then you do it their way.

TRUE SEPARATION

Why do you suppose there is the organization of the Red Cross? Because secularists wanted an organization that would provide for the poor, but be divorced from religion. That's fine.

Why do you suppose there is a Red Crescent, and a Magen David ( charitable Star (Shield) of David) Because there is no cross (red) of Christ. That's their choice.
That's separation of Church and State. The way it was meant to be.
But Christian Organizations should also be allowed to have their Charities uphold the name of Christ, just as freely as other organizations choose not to.

Now Faith-based-programs want to go for the whole pie, and make ALL Charity Organizations secular . They want to divorce ALL charitable organizations from the cross of Christ. That is unAmerican and that is unConstitutional and that is the spirit of anti-Christ, or an anti-Christian spirit.

Judas deplored the worship of God taking precedence over charities.
(John 12:3-6) But his motives were not so sterling. Like all noble political schemes, he robbed the bag.
"The more noble the cause, the more devious the motive"

THE ADULTERATING WOMAN

(the last temptation)

Who is the woman riding the scarlet (compromising) colored beast decked with purple (inclusive politics) and gold (elitist corporations) of
Revelation Chapter 17??
It is none other than the Faith-Based-Organizations (the Organized Churches) riding the Beast of government-sponsored Global partnership. In the end the Government will hate the adulterating religious organizations.

"There once was a lady from Niger
Who rode on the back of a Tiger
They came back from the ride
With the lady inside
And a smile on the face of the Tiger."

(Author unknown)

"Lead us not into temptation"

"Multitudes, multitudes in the Valley of Decision"
(Joel 3:14)
What will it be ....money or the cross of Christ? That is the choice all local pastors and their flocks will have to decide upon now.
Many churches will succumb to the temptation. "Every man has his price"....... every man except the New Man that is.
(Ephesians 4:24)

As we see the FBO's uniting more and more with the government hand-out , we will be witnessing the "falling away" prophesied in
2 Thessalonians Chapter 2:3. "Churches", and other Faith-organizations, then will be carrot-led and not Spirit-led.

"The love of money is the root of all evil"
( 1 Tim. 6:10)
and the downfall of the Church's freedom here in America.

Still, Our Lord holds out His hand to the Laodicean Church to repent:

Let us therefore:
"Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's.

American Socialism-- "mission creep"

Big-Government Conservatism Comes to ALEC Lawrence Auster Monday, Aug. 6, 2001
At the same time, Martinez tactfully acknowledged statist excesses at HUD. The agency, he said, has undergone "mission creep," expanding its functions and becoming more and more bureaucratized.

But isn't such mission creep built into the very idea of government as ultimate provider? As the state's steady growth over the last 70 years indicates, once the government becomes the supplier of people's needs, there is no limit to the needs that will be claimed as a basic right – whether they are for guaranteed college loans, or for "Enterprise Zones," or for increasingly sophisticated and expensive medical care, or for a host of other goods and services that once would have been regarded as luxuries but are now seen as indispensable requirements of the good life.

Bush's vision of "active but limited government, market-based, not stifling individual initiative" sounds good, but at bottom it means Big Government Conservatism – the injection of conservative ideas into the welfare state in a way that may mitigate some of its worst features, but that still leaves it in place and expands it even further.

In reality, of course, the faith-based initiative would inevitably bring the churches into the fatal grip of the welfare state

Bush wants aid money to go to religious organizations which perform social services (welfare) JULY 3-2002
Better not witness about Jesus
Don't even think about mentioning God

Cold, cold pragmatism
The president's proposal calls for giving government aid to religious groups that perform social services as long as they don't prosyletize to those uninterested in religious doctrine.
"The federal government should not ask, 'Does your organization believe in God,'" Bush told a small audience at Milwaukee's Holy Redeemer Institutional Church of God in Christ. "They ought to ask, 'Does your program work, are you saving lives, are you making a difference in people's lives?"'
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,56815,00.html
The reason why religious organizations were picked by the government in the first place to handle welfare is because social services only worked because the religious organizations included spirituality ( mentioning God and Jesus Christ). The government programs weren't working and had the highest rate of recidivism.
Pragamatism doesn't work. It ends in total failure.
God works. He is the only thing that works "Without Me , ye can do nothing". John 15:5

Bush pushes for Faith-based
"The Milwaukee speech marked Mr. Bush's strongest use of the bully pulpit on this issue in the 18 months he has been in office.
He spent much of last year, before the September 11 terrorist attacks, trying to push his faith-based legislation through Congress, but yesterday's words indicate a growing frustration with how bureaucrats make decisions on a day-to-day basis and implement laws and regulations.

The focus should be on the quality of the service not on the nature of the organization.
For example, if an organization had a cross on the wall, sometimes a federal official would say you're not eligible to compete unless you take that down. And that's not true. That's not constitutional law, and certainly not the position of this administration. So a lot of the equal treatment language in the Senate bill is an effort to remove the barriers that exist.

The Senate bill is silent on the question of charitable choice.
It does maintain existing Title 7 Civil Rights protections for religious organizations.

One of my jobs is to make sure the right balance is struck. On the one hand
we don't want people using tax dollars to preach. That's not what the first amendment permits. At the same time we want to allow faith based organizations to maintain their identity while they administer federal services.

Personal comment : for a man who is a lawyer, he sure doesn't know what free speech means. Yes preaching IS free speech. I have a right to my opinion and beliefs and as an American I can state them at any time according to the First Amendment.
Also the Faith-Based campaign claims that Salvation Army keeps their identity while receiving money from the government. Well I went to their Thanksgiving Dinner for the community and there was no preaching of Jesus. They have lost their first love. The whole event was regimented...you had to sign-in with complete identification...phone number, address, availability...the whole 9 yards. This isn't the Salvation Army I've known and volunteered to anonymously for years. It's a whole new racket. Yes, they've lost their identity.
They give the bread that perishes, but not the Bread of Life.

TRADING CHRISTIANITY for Secular Humanism.....
Prayer Breakfast: Prez says there is no definite faith in America
"Our country has never had an official faith."
http://www.cbsnews.com/now/story/0,1597,328586-412,00.shtml

The FACT: ALL oaths of any office taken in America since 1776 were all taken upon the 66 books of the Bible.
That tells me that
CHRISTIANITY is the rock-bottom foundation of official Faith here in America.
Every court-room in America swears to the Truth by laying hands upon the highest revered Book of Truth in all the land ....the 66 books of the Holy Bible. The 66 books of the Holy Bible is
Christianity...
the testimony of Jesus Christ...from Genesis to Revelation.
http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?s=7b689e816e18da37b46d41e63b48c1fb&threadid=13911

President Bush also stated that community service is the result of Faith. I can't find that line in the Bible.
We are to love our neighbor AS ourselves. First loving ourselves (being obedient to God) Then doing for our neighbor ONLY as the Holy Ghost leads....not as secular humanism (feel good activism) man leads.

According to secular humanistic PHILOSOPHY, one should pick up every hitch-hiker on the road, because after all, we would want to be picked up, right ? WRONG ! Doing "good" ends in death many a time. Being led of the Holy Ghost leads to life. We are to obey God rather than man.

"When the Son of man cometh, shall He find Faith on the earth ?" Luke 18:8
No. Jesus will not find true Biblical Faith upon the earth. He will find only secular humanism.
It will be called "faith", but it won't actually be Faith.

From Barry Lynn:
Additionally, Bush's plan threatens the independence of the religious institutions that receive tax dollars because public funding will inevitably lead to regulation. The government properly regulates activities that it subsidizes, since it is obliged to make certain that taxpayer funds are properly spent. Once churches, temples, mosques and synagogues are being financed by the public, some of their freedom is placed in jeopardy by the almost certain regulation to follow.
