Who Are The Nicolaitans ?

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36

Nicolaitans are anyone with a dominating, manipulating spirit.
They seek to influence and control others in very subtle ways. ( implying a group consensus for intimidation).
They use religion, causes and numbers to pressure people into movements.
Be strong. Listen to your own conscience--the Holy Spirit. Resist domination and manipulation.

Their "trump-card" is to say they "love you", and want only what is best for you. Be wary of feigned words.
"From such turn away" 2 Timothy 3

In the Book of Revelation (the Apocalypse) are written seven letters to the churches, to be read throughout all of the Church Age. They are sort of in WINZIP form [compressed with meaning] and yet they are to be UNZIPPED [viewed in full context] with each passing generation of the Church Era.
Let's UNZIP the full meaning of the word "Nicolaitans".

First of all, the word "Nicolaitans" is found in two of the Church Letters…
to the Church of
Ephesus, and to the Church of Pergamos [ Revelation 2:6 and 15].
It is not good to have a reference to Nicolaitans within the Church Body.

Just what does the word "Nicolaitans" mean?
The Greek word "nicao" means "to conquer"…to dominate/intimidate/manipulate.
It means undue control.
The word "laos" means "the people"…the laity.
In other words, there were to be no intimidating, controlling, power-hungry chiefs in the Church Body playing overlord, "baal", to the layman. I John 2:19

Now, great abuses of power within controlling boards etc. are easily recognizable.
What is not so easily recognized is the head of a smaller body, within the Body,
imposing his or her will upon others, always twisting Scripture in a pompous or dictatorial manner. These are the "wolves" of Ephesus that the Apostle Paul referred
to in Acts 20:28-31...

"For I know this that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in AMONG YOU, not sparing the flock ". [the "accusers of the brethren"] Our Lord used stronger terminology. He called them "ravening wolves", meaning they were never satisfied. Matthew 7:15 ("greedily searching for prey" Webster's Dictionary)

Just what is the nature of a wolf??

It is to encircle its intended victim and attack, certain that colleagues will close ranks.
In other words, if truth is standing solely on the Word of God and His Spirit, it will be attacked from
within, says Paul, by those who form an organization...
a networking operation based upon collegiality, rather than upon the Spirit of God.

They existed in Paul's day and more so in our day, as the Church has every avenue of communication available to it. The opportunities for abuse increase with each opportunity of influence…such as the Internet affords.

Praise God for the wonderful medium of Christian Internet…a mighty tool for dispensing God's Word to the whole world in these Last Days. But be wary of Satan's subtle attacks against Christians on the Internet through his 'messengers of enlightenment'.
[2 Corinthians 11:13-15]…"scribes" [Matthew 23]

See "
Abuse of the Web" by controllers [written by Jim Stier]

Having a closed mind to the Holy Spirit's message through others is also an abuse of the web, since the whole truth cannot enter in.
Points of view are to be examined and a conclusion reached: "Prove all things". 1 Thessalonians 5:21
"Hold fast that which is good".

Matthew 23:13
"for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in."

Some of the Christian message board-monitors censor other points of view besides their own. In some cases this is good, as there are dissemblers on message boards who want to do nothing but argue. However, when main points of Bible passages are brought up, they should be examined from ALL points of view and a conclusion should be reached.
That is why we have the Scriptures. They are the Truth. If researched diligently, they will focus God's Light upon what is true and what is to be held fast as sound teaching within the church.

If you notice that today, many points of prophecy are still left undetermined, and many are running to and fro on the Internet, seeking who has the most popular opinion about the Rapture, about the Book of Revelation, about Second Thessalonians Chapter Two, and the identity of Babylon, etc.

Have we failed to do our homework ? The Councils of the Early Church pressed on to a conclusion, whether or not they "liked" the conclusion. They settled for the TRUTH, and the TRUTH was passed down for our benefit...such as the Nicene Creed.

Today if the Nicene Creed were the topic of message boards, it would either be excluded because it is too debatable, or else 500 theories would be left floating around the net, because the Body of Christ failed to fasten these Truths to Holy Scripture, once and for all, thus arriving at conclusions. "Hold fast that which is good". We need to care enough to find out the end of the matter. (rather than avoid it altogether).

Four aspects of the Nicolaitans

First, we will expose the main characteristics of the Nicolaitans
dominating, intimidating, manipulating and excessive-control] in these last days of the Church Age, and then we will present the antidote for their poison:
the theme of the
Priesthood of the Believer
l John 2:20 and 27
and his Freedom in Christ. [All of
Galatians and Colossians Ch. 2: 4, 8]

DOMINATING NICOLAITANS (Bully-position...exploiting power over people with impunity)

To 'dominate' means for someone to be over you, to have the dominion, the domain. When you're young and immature, God has appointed good people to be over you , parents primarily.
From there, it's teachers, preachers, government officials, bosses etc. etc. who are
over us, mostly in the form of guidance. When these instruments become
overly-over you, then that becomes abuse.
When does that happen?
When the relationship is based on dependence, rather than aiming for independence.

A parent cannot keep a child immature forever. He must teach self-reliance.
A teacher ought to encourage his students to seek, grow and be challenged.
Executives are subject to a Higher Master. [Colossians 4:1 and James 5:4-6 ]
Governments ought to assist in the wholesome development of the individual and the community….not becoming tyrants, enslaving the people for their daily bread,
but freeing them for the pursuit of happiness and fulfillment within the context of reasonable laws…the Judeo-Christian ethic.
While it is good and right to have separation of church and state ( the HOW we worship God ) there can not ever be separation of God and State ( WHO we worship, our Creator- God ).

Those in positions of spiritual influence were commanded to "feed the flock of God" [I Peter 5:2], always encouraging others to live in the Light of God's Holy Word.
When questions arose, shepherds were to lead the flock to the Scriptures for answers---not to latest popular guru on the topic.
Why are we quoting so and so, and not the Word of God? Do we belong to a Personality Cult ??

By "Word of God", we mean the unadulterated, uncorrupted Word of God....the original Bible texts, and not the man-made modern revisions, which omit and twist many passages to suit their political ambitions and agendas.

Most modern, revised-Bibles are politically-correct, all-inclusive (of sin along with the sinner), omitting the necessity of Blood-atonement for our sins; and some derail Original Sin by asserting the goodness of man,
and thereby prescribing "unconditional love and peace" as the solutions to all of life's problem. Hell is not clearly defined.

Unfortunately, the religious realm harbors two types of individuals that unwholesomely feed upon one another…overbearing leaders and lay-back followers.

First there are those individuals who prefer to have someone else think for them….. pre-digest the Bible [ or any religious info] and interpret it for them, "shepherd" them in all situations, and to be pray-ers, instead of themselves becoming prayer-warriors.

These followers believe that by affiliating with the names, [any leader in any religious area], that this will automatically bring them into the fellowship of God.
"Are ye of Apollos ?"etc. 1 Corinthians 3:4 Name dropping. Parrots.

In other words, they do a complete by-pass surgery on the Holy Ghost operating directly in their lives. They do not question.

Weak followers will always gravitate toward "religious" overlords, thinking that this will alleviate them of any personal accountability or responsibility.
"So-and-so says"… allowing them to go with the flow.
This is not in the Word.
We are accountable for the Spirit-filled life whether we avail ourselves directly or not...
[ l Corinthians , Chapter 3]

Secondly, there are leaders who need to be needed, and must surround themselves with
a thick blanket of "their" flock [easily swayed individuals]. They disdain the direct operation of the Holy Ghost in the individual believer. They feel that a more knowledgeable mediator… (namely THEM) should shepherd, guide, lead , and feed others with their opinions and info, rather than the Holy Spirit enlightening others to the understanding of the Word of God.
John 16:13  and  Hebrews 8:11 and Galatians 1:10-17     http://www.blueletterbible.org

Oftentimes, these leaders have a very insular collegiality about them.

Mr. Jim Bakker (former president of PTL) spoke of a blanket of colleagues, surrounding him, insulating him from reality...always telling him what he wanted to hear. He later regretted it, as it greatly hindered his growth. He is free of that today, praise God.

Now these "spiritual leaders" of any type of group resent strongly anyone teaching the
priesthood of the believer and his freedom in Christ. And because they are used to positions of power and influence, they attack and oppose anyone teaching these concepts.

These attacks may come in the form of virulent e-mail ("flames", because they come from you know where). They are generally unfounded and unsubstantiated….a volcano of emotion and a snow-job. By 'snow-job' it is meant, that the issue that is being attacked is not really the issue at all . Something
else bothers them, and because it is a valid issue and one they do not wish to confront in their own lives, they run over to Left Field and do some nit-picking just to camouflage the fact that something in Right Field is Right and it bothers them.
The conviction then sometimes fans into rage and verbal abuse.
Review the e-mail…are they quoting Scripture, or throwing it at you? Are they dealing with the issue, or side-tracking? Are they objective about the doctrinal difference, or are they subjectively turning the issue into a personal vendetta against them ( which of course it is not ).

What are Christians to do in cases like this? Well, first of all, rather than react (emotionally), we are to seek the enlightenment of the Holy Ghost for each case.... Proverbs 19:11 says that it is to a wise man's credit that he overlooks insults.
So hard to do, but that is the answer.

Thomas A'Kempis said: "
Many things must thou pass by with a
deaf ear,
And think rather of the things that are for thy peace.
It is more profitable to
turn away thine eyes from such things as displease thee, than to be a slave to contention."

A more modern rendition goes like this:
"Let me not take to myself, and suffer over, the actions and reactions of other people." "What other people think about me is none of my business."
"My main business is to go on with God, alone if need be."
From such arrogance turn away -- 1 Timothy 3:1--6.

Next, since personal e-mail is one-on-one it is done in a corner, under the cover of darkness. Jesus tells us to expose the works of darkness and bring them to the light.
[John 3:21] Hence, the need for this article.

How much do we realize that Satan comes as an "angel of light"? [
2 Corinthians 11:14].
He is a deceiver [John Chapter 8]
and a perverter (twister) of Scripture [Luke 4:10,11].
See "Spiritual Abuse in the Church" [ 50+ articles] www.caic.org.au/zabusive.htm

People can distort facts: "Figures don't lie, but liars can sure figure."
The same goes for facts. Facts can be taken out of context and twisted around until the opposite is believed....especially when innuendo is used rather than total documentation.

Satan convolutes, way-lays, distracts and confuses issues. He is not direct, but howls from the Left, when the issue is from the Right. He feigns, lies, backs-off with decoys and side-issues. He is never forthright, and his messengers are willfully incapable of self-honesty. [John 8: 31-47…"he is a liar, and the father of it."] . He would have no power if the flock were Bible-literate and not so gullible and naive.

He is an "accuser of the brethren" [Revelation 12:10…false accusations at that!] He works in darkness [2 Corinthians 6:14…speaks one way individually, another way collectively]. He is a thief [John 10….with money-making schemes]. And he is to be Strongly Opposed:

"Brethren, be sober and watch well;
The devil, who is your enemy, goes about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour;
But you---grounded in the Faith---must face him boldly." I Peter 5: 8, 9   Compline Version

Jesus said our worst enemies would be those of our own 'household'. And as we stated earlier, Paul the Apostle said there were "beasts of Ephesus"
I Corinthians 15:32 and "wolves" of Ephesus Acts 20:29-31. These are Fifth Columns
within. Paul specifically named them in 2 Timothy 2:17 + 4:14 as well as did John in 3 John 9, 10.

All leaders [with positions of influence],
be they civic (political) or religious, are tempted with abuses of power and control. (See Matthew 4:8-10)
Spiritual leaders seem to be particularly mesmerized with membership and followers. There comes a point, with many of them, where they can't let go, and they put a strangle hold on any outside thought . They quench the Holy Ghost with their clique-ism
[ I Thessalonians 5:19]. The Lord says twice: He hates the Nicolaitans.
[Revelation 2:6 and 15] What more can be said?

Today, Church and State are aligning together in an attempt at "body-and-soul-control."
This is the ultimate collusion of power. For more information, please see:
"Separation of Church and State"  http://hopetotheend.com/sep.html and http://hopetotheend.com/religionindex.html

While it is necessary to be in agreement with basic doctrine (hell, heaven, salvation in
the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone) many of the fine points of prophecy (timing of the rapture, timing of revelation events) are still to be discerned.
Opinion is not the "judge and divider" over websites...basic foundational truth and doctrine is [Luke 12:14].

l Corinthians 14:32 says that "the prophets are subject to the prophets"…meaning all prophecy must agree with Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and the 12 Minor Prophets, as well as any other prophetic passages in the Bible.

Truth is not formed in opinion polls. Truth, as testified in the History of the Church, is always knocking on the door from the outside. It is not popular by nature....

"Enter ye in at the strait gate:" [ the minority...Luke 6:22 ]
"for wide is the gate, and broad is the way," (popular majority...Luke 6:26)
"that leadeth to destruction, and MANY there be which go in there at:
Because strait is the gate, and NARROW is the way, which leadeth unto Life,
And FEW there be that find it." [Matthew 7:13,14]

"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to
please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10
(Which begs the question:
Will web-site awards eventually end in compromise of content?[ I Corinthians 9:25]
And for what purpose are counters? to please itching ears ? Possibly. 2 Timothy 4:3).
[ I Chronicles 21:1 and 7, 8 ]

"But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it ,
but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." Galatians 1:10-17

We must not "pin our souls to any man's back". (quoting Sir Thomas More)
All of us need to keep free and clear of compromising affiliations on the Net.

Finally, any form of censorship that shields others from the "meat" of God's Word,
stifles and retards growth. There comes a time when we must become 3 x 7. [ 21--  become mature; think for ourselves aided by the Holy Spirit ]

The Book of Revelation mentions another indictment for consideration within the last Church age ( Laodicea). Here the Lord accuses the members of being Lukewarm…neither hot nor cold. Now how do we UNZIP the meaning of that within the context of today?
Are we looking for the "balanced" issue? It's now become
simple Biblical Truth versus sophisticated wily wisdom of words [Colossians 2:4+8]...
What happened to the literal interpretation of the Word? Where is Truth?
"I can't tell you the Truth because you can't handle the Truth " ( modern movie quote). Today's church resists discipline and adversity. We not only have a "prosperity gospel" but we also indulge in a "positive-thinking-only-gospel". We are infatuated with such (surfeiting, excess, obsessed with)

Jesus said He wasn't interested in the "balanced" opinion. He said, " Be zealous!! Repent! Revelation 3:15-19
The reason why the Everlasting Gospel is everlasting is because it is
Like J. Vernon McGee says,
"It puts the cookies down on the lower shelf so the kiddies can get 'em." (It is understood so easily when one is surrendered to the Holy Spirit ).
J. Vernon McGee also states that Truth is so simple, that only a theologian could miss it".
"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the
simplicity that is in Christ."
2 Corinthians 11:3.  To me, that means kabala ( mesmerized by numbers ) ousts the Holy Ghost when trying to understand Scripture.

Are websites and ministries
feeding the flock of God, or stirring up controversy, bantering opposing opinions about with every wind of doctrine? Is there a sincere attempt to bring the matter to a conclusion that rests solidly on the whole counsel of God in the Scriptures? Acts 20.

"I know how....thou canst not bear them which are evil" Revelation 2:2;
"But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate " Revelation 2:6

Ephesian Church was commended for opposing the Nicolaitans, but in time the Reluctants passed by and said, 'not so bad'. Then by the time the Pergammon Church came along, the Lord went from commending the Body for separating from the Nicolaitans to condemning the Pergammon Body for their appeasement. The latter membership wasn't fully convinced of the poisonous problem within. It became a behemoth with time.

"Feed the flock of God...not for
filthy lucre ( money) ...neither as being lords ( baals ) over God's
heritage, but being examples to the flock." I Peter 5:2,3...Titus 1:7, 11
"For the
love of money is the root of all evil." I Timothy 6:10

Let's not be taken-in . God hasn't resigned. He doesn't need Madison Avenue techniques and promoters of moneyed-causes. And He doesn't need spam-elves passing the cause along like a chain letter. Here is what Scott Butki of Donrey Media says:

"I'm not going to speculate today about why people perpetuate hoaxes on the Web. Maybe it's the anonymity of the Web. Maybe it's just people with a sick mind."
Seeking excessive power, and control  is a form of insanity and it breeds tyranny."

The Apostle Peter warns us of those who would "make merchandise of you"……

"their pernicious (deadly ) ways…..and through Covetousness shall they
with feigned words
(crafty, skillful, clever, devious) MAKE MERCHANDISE OF YOU:
whose judgement now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not" 2 Peter 2:3

We are not to be na´ve.
We are to be "wise as serpents as guileless as a dove." Matthew 10:16   Duoay-Rheims Bible

ENABLERS....never standing up to pressure

Anytime anyone gets you to do something you would otherwise not do [when not led of the Holy Ghost] that is manipulation. We
enable others to abuse power over us when we so readily comply with their wishes, going against what we feel to be right.
Nicolaitans like to see their 'power over people'
demonstrated. [manipulative authority].
They like to see outward compliance manifested.

We cannot say 'yes' to Christ, unless we can say "NO" to others.
Are we NO-able? Can one withstand pressure?
Can you stand alone?
We cannot make Jesus THE Lord of our life, if we allow others to overlord us.

"How long halt ye between two opinions?
If the LORD be God, follow Him:
But if Baal [overlord/the system], then follow him." [ I Kings 18:21 ]

There are seven Scripture quotes referring to the Priesthood of the layman in the Bible.
Exodus 19:6 ;   Isaiah 61:6;   1 Peter 2:5;    1 Peter 2:9 ;   Revelation/Apocalypse  1:6;     Rev. 5:10;     Rev. 20:6.    http://www.blueletterbible.org

As stated earlier, the antidote for the Nicolaitan venom is the strong Priesthood of the Believer. (lay persons)
This personal Priesthood of the Believer is what Jesus Christ is all about. It was conceived in the Old Testament, alongside the formal Levitical priesthood:
"And ye shall be unto Me a
kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou [Moses] shall speak unto the children of Israel ."
Exodus 19:6

God speaking directly "to the meek" (Isaiah 61:1)

Isaiah 61:6 "But ye shall be named "the Priests of the LORD":
men shall call you "the Ministers of our God":
ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves."

The priesthood referred to here is not the Levitical priesthood of sacrificing animals for our sins. This priesthood of reconciliation is due to the offspring of the lion of Judah-priesthood. Jesus, our forerunner priest of the line of Judah, sacrificed Himself on the altar of the Cross for the debt of our sins. This sacrifice was whole and complete. He died once, and for all. (Book of Hebrews   Chapter 9).
We are the ministers of reconciliation, giving out the Word of Reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5: 18, 19.
Since Calvary, all who are in Jesus Christ (true Born-Again Believers) are priests and intercessors with Him. The Levitical priesthood has been put aside for 2016 + years.

"For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law" [ discerned by the Holy Spirit]. Hebrews 7:12

"For this is the covenant [relationship] that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord;
I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: And I will be to them a God, and
they shall be to Me a people:
And they shall not teach every man his neighbour [continually], and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord':
For ALL shall know Me,
from the least to the greatest." Hebrews 8:10, 11

"But ye
(laymen) are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar (unique) people; that ye should shew forth the praises of HIM (Jesus) Who hath called you out of darkness into HIS (Jesus) marvelous light."
1 Peter 2:9

Our Lord desires greatly that each believer pursue Him with intense interest, personal diligence,
rather than letting someone else do that for us.
Granted, we are all pressed for time. God understands that all too well. That is why he gave to the slave-community delivered out of Egypt, the freedom-commandment… the Sabbath DAY OF REST --the Whole Entire day ( 24 hours ). Please see the book "The Happiest People on Earth " by Demos Shakarian, Founder of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship".

COME AWAY (Canticle of Canticles 2:10; Song of Solomon)
"My Beloved spake, and said unto me,
'Rise up, My love, My fair one, and come away."

We have turned that day of REST into a day of social Obligation.
We ought to find Sundays exhilarating days of questing for God, with or without
a group of others around us.
Honesty compels one to admit that one drowns in God's Holy Word when alone.
One reads, one researches, one meditates at a very slow pace.
One pauses and hangs one's thoughts at will , not being pushed along by a schedule ( harried, pressured )
This is an
all day process-- Sundays-- or whenever rare moments of time afford the opportunity.

Then there are times that one needs to be with the fellowship of believers.
One needs to sing the songs of praise and worship, rich with simplicity and meaning.
One needs to hear a guiding pastor-- filled with zeal of the Holy Ghost-- preach Bible passages with fervor and great earnestness.
Yes, assembling together is good -- even a home fellowship -- and greatly encouraged in these latter days. (now). Hebrews  10:25.

But always in conjunction with our own personal times with God.
Time alone with God, researching the Word, strengthens not only ourselves, but also edifies the Body of Christ.
The Church in China is mainly underground and in homes and it is strong.
(Just like the Early Church in ACTS)
And they too relish the collective service, because it is such a privilege, and abounding in
personal testimonies. Each Chinese believer could easily lead a service, because the Priesthood of Believers is strong in China.

The following is a quote from Mr. Lam's book: [I Corinthians 14:26]

"Everyone is expected to share a song, a testimony, an exhortation, or a teaching.
The Holy Spirit is allowed to lead the worship.
Personal needs are openly shared and prayed for by the group.
Reports of deliverance, healings and miracles are so common that in many places the Communists have issued orders
forbidding the laying on of hands in prayer meetings!" [ page 114 ]

Christ Himself initiated the concept of the Priesthood of the Believer, and the Book of Revelation begins up front with that concept: "And (Christ) hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father"
[Revelation 1:6;         Rev. 5:10;          Rev. 20:6]

In Matthew 23:8 , Jesus said,
"But be ye not called 'Rabbi' [master]: for One is your Master, even Christ:
AND ALL YE ARE BRETHREN." (See also Acts 10:34

Yes, the veil of the system was torn between the Believer and His Lord at the
crucifixion of Christ [Matthew 27:51…Mark 15:38…Luke 23:45]
We now enter boldly into the throne-room of grace [Hebrews 4:16] assured of our priestly position in Christ.

"Ye also as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God
by Jesus Christ." I Peter 2:5

Christ forthrightly pointed His finger at the individual and commanded,
Ye are the salt of the earth….Ye are the light of the world." Matthew 5:13,14

We have seen then that we have our Priesthood in Christ, and that we are not to
abandon that office to an overlord… a Nicolaitan. God praises us, when we separate from the over-bearing…the dominating, intimidating and manipulating.....controllers.

"Come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you." 2 Corinthians 6:17

If we allow such Nicolaitans into the fellowship, they will seek to influence and control the members, thus putting a strangle-hold on the Holy Ghost.
hated those Nicolaitans and said so, twice. He rebuked the Pergammon Church, because they tolerated, (suffered and allowed) their abuse within the Body.
Righteous elders, yes [ I Timothy Chapters 3 + 4; Chapter 5:1+17-25 and Chapter 6 ] ---- Nicolaitans, no!
A true elder leads by example, and not by coercion. Bible Study Fellowships should be peer driven, not leader-driven, seeking the Bible's confirmation and the inner witness of the Holy Ghost in all matters. "All ye are brethren " Matthew 23.

Now, are
all moderators  over-bearing? Certainly not.
Many of our moderators are of the correct Spirit in Christ, and it is precisely because so that such an aura of trust envelops anyone "religious". But Christ warns us:
"Be not deceived. Many will come in My name" (as 'Christians'). Matthew 24: 4, 5, and 25

We are to watch, to be on guard, and we are to separate from those who do our thinking for us, or who dissemble.
Let's keep our freedom in Christ.
Let us be subject to no man in our spirituality.
Let us be subject to the Holy Ghost only. He will lead us and guide us without fail. John 14-16.

"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying,
'This is the way, walk ye in it,' " Isaiah 30:21.

"Be ye separate" 2 Corinthians 6:17..."Come out of her My people" Revelation 18:4

Confessing faults ...giving others power over you
This website does not believe in general confession of our faults to unknown others.
We confess our faults to God and to the offending party. Not to unknown others.

God told us to be "wise as serpents and guileless as a dove." Some groups and organizations use confessed faults as a means of control over members.
Those people justify this by saying this is for "accountability". Actually, they want power over others through emotional blackmail.
The Scientologists have been using this successfully for years.
When God tells us to confess our faults one to another, it means that when you specifically owe a person an apology, you go and apologize.

It does not mean putting yourself in jeopardy in the hands of men who seek power over people at every opportunity.
The Church is filled with such people today. Be wary of signing information on prayer cards that go into databases and reviewed even by the government.
If you are in a prayer-group, use Holy Ghost good-sense when revealing personal (private ) information.
Listen to the Holy Spirit...not to Nicolatains.
