Hope To The End ..... Rapture

Midnight, Meridians and Myriads

http://www.britannica.com/bps/media-view/6352/0/0/0

This article is only for consideration.  It could be a rapture scenario, or it may not be.

In the first article called "Knowing", we shared that we Can know the notable day and hour of the Rapture ( but not the exact date, until uttered in a word of prophecy ). God has a "moed" for us .. an appointed time.

In the second article called "Enoch" http://hopetotheend.com/Enoch.html
we discerned that Enoch lived to be 365 years. IF --and we stress IF --- that is a clue, then perhaps Enoch was raptured on the 365th day of the year ...New Years Eve That is purely hypothetical, and yet in the realm of possibility. It was highly unusual for a patriarch to pass on at such an early age.
Even if that clue proved valid, we do not know the exact year until God reveals that to us.

In this third article in this series of hypothetical scenarios ( all within the realm of possibility ), we are going to explore the 24 different midnights around the globe and see if that pertains to a Processional Rapture.

We do not believe in date-setting ( which includes a specific year ) but we do believe that we will know the time and season
( 1 Thessalonians 5:1 )

Now, in this article "Meridians", we would like to share some interesting points to consider.

The Midnight Rapture -- Matthew 25: 1-10
( We believe that since our Lord does everything in order -- and not in chaos -- that Midnight is the most rested time on earth .. a time when cars will not be crashing and airplanes will not be falling out of skies, especially if curfews are imposed at this time, etc. )

It is obvious from Matthew 25: 1-10 that the five wise virgins knew both the day and the hour of the Rapture. The hour was MIDNIGHT. We believe that this is a literal translation. In other words, we believe that our Lord will translate His Bride exactly at Midnight.
Which Midnight ? .........  All 24 of the midnights around the globe.

Let me ask you a question. How many New Year's Eves are there ? That's right, there are 24 of them around the globe. Here in the United States, we count four of them. ... Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific Time.

We live on the West Coast in California. We know that it is New Years in New York when our clock says 9:00 pm December 31st. At 10:00 pm Dec. 31 it is New Years in Minnesota. At 11:00 pm Dec. 31st it is New Year's in Wyoming. And finally at Midnight it is New Year's January 1 here in California. And it is like that all over the globe.

Watching TV on December 31st
... the 365th day of the year

Do you remember watching the Millennial year 2000 ring-in all around the globe on TV ? Well there were 24
turnings-of-the-century taking place. These midnights  were Not simultaneous.

The television showcased the glorious New Years in Hong Kong, Paris, London, the US ( Hawaii) and every other major place on the globe in a day long event. It was an awesome scene with firecrackers and spectaculars outdoing one another, as we all "tarried" through the early afternoon and evening glued to the Televised wonders.

We all experienced the fact that "midnight" comes 24 different times around the world.

That is because there are twenty-four Longitudes ( meridians ) around the globe, dividing our world into 24 different time zones, or segments.  Russia alone has 11 time zones.
So there are 24 Midnights around the globe each night. What's the point?
The point is that someday Our Lord will come for us at Midnight, and that each time zone will have its own exit-call within the Rapture Processional.
Please see
"The Seventh Trumpet " for a further explanation of this point.

Elijah's different Regions on the day of his Rapture ( Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho, Jordan ) 2 Kings 2

On the day that Elijah was to be Raptured, he and Elisha traveled a lengthy distance. They left Gilgal early in the morning and traveled to Bethel. While there, the sons of the Prophets all spoke to Elisha of Elijah's departing that day to heaven. "Knowest thou that the LORD  will take away thy master from thy head today ? "
This same phrase was used by the sons of the prophets at Jericho.  2 Kings 2: 3 + 5.

We too -- like the sons of the prophets -- will know the exact day of our departure. It says in 1 Thessalonians 5: 4  "But you brethren are Not in darkness that THAT DAY should overtake you as a thief." We WILL  know when we go.

It is our belief that Elijah traveled distances on Rapture-day, in order to show us that the Rapture would be an ongoing process, involving many locations at different times ( Elijah could not be in 4 places at once ). This of course was orchestrated by God, with the Holy Spirit leading Elijah on. This example would go to show us that our Rapture would Not be a simultaneous event, but would take place over the globe from different zones ... and in our case, different time zones. This was the only way it could be illustrated in Scripture, as we see it.

3 Additional insights gleaned from 2 Kings 2

A. First of all, let us ask ourselves why there were  4 locations involved on Elijah's rapture day ?
Why not 2, or 6, or 10  locations ?

First of all, the Biblical number "4" stands for the earth -- the globe in its entirity.
( Please see see E.W. Bullinger's " Number in Scripture ", pgs. 123 -- 134

It is our personal belief that the number 4 here is indicative of the four different translations within history, referred to by our Lord in Mark 13 : 35 "
evening, midnight, cockcrowing or morning".  ( Bullinger, pg. 123 bottom )

As we see it ....
#1. "Evening" refers to Matthew 27: 53, 54 when the saints came out of their graves and appeared unto many ( later ) .

#2. "Midnight" refers to Matthew 24: 1-10 when the 5 wise virgins go with their Bridegroom at precisely Midnight. It is a 24 hour precessional (we believe), each section rising in their order 1 Corinthians 15:23.

#3. "Cockcrowing " refers to  Luke 17: 34 and Matthew 24: 40 where one is taken and the other left ( Rev. 3: 3; Rev. 16: 15 ).
This pre-wrath rapture occurs at Rev. 16:15, sometime before the vials are poured out. This is not a processional, but a Simultaneous Rapture occurring on both sides of the globe ( day as well as night ).

#4 " Morning" refers to the actual return of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem. There, we will see 1/3 of the Israeli Jews called the Remnant ( Zechariah 13: 8,9 ) "changed" in a twinkling of an eye ( 1 Corinthians 15: 51, 52 ) , at their last trump , the  "HaGadol" of Matthew 24: 31. It is our belief that they will be transfigured ( Luke 9:28--36 ) into Glorified bodies for the Lord's Millennium. These Jews " from the earth " will be joined with those from heaven ( Mark 13: 27 ). That is how we see it.

B. A second insight is that while Elijah represents prophecy ( foretelling the Word of God ) , Elisha represents prophesy... the operations of the gifts of the Holy Ghost . Elisha was given a double-portion ( firstfruits) of the gifts of the Holy Ghost, whereby he performed many miracles. We believe Elisha represents the 144,000 Jews of Rev. 7 and also of Daniel 11: 32b " but the people that do know their God, shall be strong and do exploits ( miraculous wonders ). Both Elijah and Elisha had similar offices of the prophets.

Elijah and Elisha were always together, just like prophecy ( the written Word ) works together with prophesy ( an utterance given by the Holy Ghost to one who has the gift of prophesy ). One confirms the other.
At the mouth of two witnesses, a fact is established ( Deuteronomy 17: 6 ).
"For we know in part, and we prophesy in part."  1 Corinthians 13: 9

C. Third insight : Elijah uses this phrase when speaking to Elisha : " tarry here"  while he traveled to another city.
(2 Kings 2 : 4 + 6) .  The way we see it is that this is indicative of the fact that we too will "tarry" ( patiently wait ) until our time zone is joined in with the preceding processional ( " I will not leave thee" ) .

These are some of the insights we have gleaned from 2 Kings 2, that we wanted to insert at this point. Now on with our study.

PROCESSIONAL

Each New Year's Eve there is such an expectation in the air as New Year's comes to each time zone. And when the Millennial year 2000 came, the celebrations tried very hard to out-do each other. But how they all pale in comparison with the Rapture-Processional that is yet to come ...  "each man in his own order"1 Corinthians 15:23.

In the mind's eye, it is totally awesome and breathtaking .
Yes, really and truly , we WILL KNOW the day and the HOUR that our Bridegroom comes.
How we all want to be in that number, when the saints go marching in !

Midnight, Meridians and Myriads

We believe that God is not the author of confusion, but of a right and proper way of doing things. So it would make sense that He would not want people falling out of airplanes that had missing-pilots etc., nor would God stage cars crashing on streets etc. during regular day time activities. To us, that would be overly-dramatic, and not within the character of God to design.
We think that God will quietly, and very peaceably, have us rise .. "each in his own order "  1 Corinthians 15:23
at precisely Midnight, in each of the 24 different time zones, while the world is in its "sleep" mode.

"For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;

"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4: 13 -18

"Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed...In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump
( the last trump in the series of the 7 trumpets of Revelation. ...Rev. 11: 15--19 to be specific )
For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For the corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." 1 Corinthians 15: 51-53

1 Thessalonians 4: 15 tells us that we living saints will not be raptured ahead of the newly resurrected glorified saints ( who died before the time of the Rapture ). We will not "prevent" them, meaning we will not come before them. There is a hint in Scripture about this event in
Matthew 27: 52, 53 .

" And the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints which slept, arose,
and came out of the graves after His resurrection ( 3 days later ) , and went into the Holy City, and appeared unto many"

In those two verses, we see that the graves of the saints were opened on the evening of Christ's Crucifixion, yet the saints themselves did not rise yet. The saints actually did not rise until Jesus Himself rose on Easter Sunday morning, the third day since He was crucified.

One has to ask oneself, "Why was there a time delay between the opening of the graves, and their appearing to many three days later ? "

We believe it is to show us the time interval between the Resurrection of the dead saints and the Rapture of the Living Saints. Their Resurrection / Rapture and our Translation, together, would constitute more than 24 hours. It would be regarded as "one long day", which in Hebrew is called a "yoma arichta"--- a day lasting more than 24 hours.

And just as the Hebrew term "yoma arichta" includes the long trumpet blast of the "Tekiah Gedolah", we too will have a long trumpet sound, raising up the previously departed saints first, and then uplifting "we who are alive in Christ". Thus we would all arrive in the Presence of our Lord and our Bridegroom Jesus Christ by the third day.

We personally look forward to seeing the graves of the departed saints open before we go in the Rapture.
It would be a testimony, a witness and a confirmation of what Scripture reveals concerning this event.
If three days are involved, would the first day be the opening of those graves ?

Resurrection, Reunion and Rapture
Romans 11: 15 " For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead ? "

Would the actual Resurrection of the departed saints, be the receiving of their Glorified bodies for the first time ? Would our departed saintly relatives and friends visit us on that day before we go in the Midnight Rapture, just like the Jerusalem group of saints went and appeared unto many on the day of Easter ?
After our reunion with our saintly friends and relatives, then would they ascend on the same day that their graves were opened ?

Would we ascend on the next day ( around the globe, at each midnight ) , and thus we will all be Raptured and be with our Lord by the third day?

All of the above are possible. We cannot say for sure. One thing is for sure. The departed saints of Matthew 27: 52, 53 could have had their graves opened Sunday morning after Christ's resurrection. But that didn't happen. We have to ask ourselves "why"....
why three days earlier ? And our answers must reasonably satisfy.

"The Seventh Trumpet". gives a fuller description of this event.

Thus, there will be myriads of saints arising during "yoma arichta" ( this one long day) .
A myriad is considered ten thousand
s ( plural ).
Since Jude 14 tells us that Jesus returns with "ten thousands of His saints", we must realize that Jesus ascends or raptures ten thousands of His saints at the Midnight Rapture ( myriads ).

" And Enoch also the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints."

God has power over time

The concept of "yoma arichta" ( one long day ) has happened before in Scripture. There are three examples of God's authority over the passage of time in these three instances:

In Judges 10: 12-14, God made the sun and the moon stand still for Joshua until Joshua obtained victory in the battle. The sun stood still for the length of a day.

In 2 Kings 20: 9, 10, 11, God moved the sundial backwards 10 degrees for King Hezekiah, as a sign of his healing.

In  Zechariah 14: 6 + 7, God will make an indiscernible day : a sort of long twilight of an unknown amount of time.

Cockcrowing Rapture  ( a  simultaneous event ; rather than hourly processions )
In Scripture, whenever the title "Son of man" is used, it tells us that we will Not know the day nor the hour .
However, when "Bridegroom" is used, the Bride Does Know the day and hour. Matthew 25:10 )

The timing of the Cockcrowing Rapture is Not known. The Cockcrowing Rapture seems to be a simultaneous event around the globe...all candidates ascending at the same time, as can be gleaned from Luke 17: 34-36

My comments in italics
"I tell you in that night " ( "night" here means the time of the Great Tribulation )
[ we are children of the day ( 1 Thess. 5: 5 )  and not of the night, meaning we are those Raptured  before the Great Tribulation.
Those who are raptured later are raptured during the Great Tribulation
 ]

"I tell you in that night "
"there shall be two men in one bed" ( like a work-camp dormitory ? );
the one shall be taken ( in the Cockcrowing Rapture; a repented Believer ),
and the other shall be left."

"Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken ( in the Cockcrowing rapture )
and the other left."

"Two men shall be in the field;

the one shall be taken ( in the Cockcrowing Rapture )
and the other left."

"Where, Lord ? "
[ He does not give them a location, ]

And He said unto them, "Wheresoever the body is "
Here the Lord refers to the ones not taken. Many will die in the Great Tribulation, and their bodies will be where the eagles are.
In the meantime, those taken will be raptured..

At the Midnight Rapture, no bodies will be found, just like it was for Enoch (Hebrews 11:5 ) and for Elijah
  ( 2 Kings 2: 17  ) .

"thither will the eagles be gathered together."
[ 'eagles' here -- as we see it --refers to the Global security forces who will use
Veritrace to document the corpses. Their body parts may be donated to hospitals; they may be creamated. No one knows. ]
This event is also told in Matthew 24:40, 41.
Revelation / Apocalypse 3: 3 and Rev. 16: 15 both tell us that these people were taken, as by a thief.

Whereas the Midnight Rapture group would Not be taken suddenly or by surprise ( as by a thief ) since they knew
1. the time and the season ; 1 Thessalonians  5: 1
2. They knew the hour  ; Matthew 25:6
3. And they knew the day ; Matthew 25:6 and 2 Kings 2: 3 + 5

The main point in this study is for all of us to Watch. Our hearts and spirits must be watching, by keeping our eyes on Jesus and living righteously. We Watch by being obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit each day and each hour.
If we Watch, then we will know in which WATCH our Lord doth come"
" Watch ye therefore : for ye know not when the master of the house cometh:
at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning. " -- Mark 13: 35

"What I say unto you I say unto all, Watch" -- Mark 13:37

"Whom have I in heaven, but Thee ? And I desire no one on earth as much as Thee" Psalm 73:25
