Hope To The End ...................... POEMS
FROM SELF----FEASTING ON JESUS
Fast from worry, and feast on trusting in God (read the Psalms)
Fast from complaining, and feast on gratitude.
from criticism, and feast on seeing the good in all things.
Fast from rushing , and slow down.
from hostility, and turn it over to God.
Fast from bitterness, and let it go (praying for them).
self-concern, and get busy helping others.
Fast from shadows of sorrow, and feast on the sunlight of serenity.
from idle gossip, and feast on purposeful silence.
Fast from judging others, using discernment instead.
Fast from darkness, and feast on
the light of God's Word (read the Bible daily).
Fast from alcohol (uppers, downers), and face your fears, relying on the Holy Ghost.
poor health habits, and feast on applying the healing power of
Fast from words of sarcasm, and feast on words that edify.
from discontent, and feast on contentment.
Fast from anger, and feast on forthrightness instead.
from little white lies , and feast on constant truth and reality.
Fast from over-eating, and practice moderation instead.
discouragement, and feast on hope.
Fast from the trivia of this world, and feast on Jesus (His Word).
Fast from trying to control, manipulate and dominate;
and be Holy Spirit-led instead
lethargy, and feast on enthusiasm.
Starve your doubts and feed your Faith.
Fast from always wanting and buying things,
And feast on satisfaction.
Fast from self-importance and vindication,
and feast on meekness and God's will.
from problems that overwhelm,
and feast on prayer that undergirds.
This is an adaptation of
"Is not this the FAST that I have chosen ?
To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens,
and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house
[ of worship, by tithing to those who shelter the poor ]
When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him
( give alms readily; give clothing away to those who distribute to the poor)
and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh
(help those of your own household first...Charity begins at home).
