Hope To The End ........................... Rapture

Some Points to Ponder
Why was Enoch 365 years old when he was raptured ?

We have all read the account of Enoch in Genesis 5: 21--24, and we are all aware that Enoch was raptured when he was 365 years old.

If you are like me, that "365" rang a  clear bell. That's the number of a solar calendar year, and such an Obvious number, with no other particular significance than a Christian era year.
Matthew Henry calls it " a year of years".
Actually, "365"  is never again mentioned in the Bible.

Possible meanings:
That Enoch represents the Gentiles ( Goyem, Jude 15 ) while Elijah represents the Jewish people and nation, Malachi 4:5,6.
Remote meaning: The 365th day of the year represents our New Years Eve, a time of drunkenness when the world could easily be caught unawares.
Rather than pinpoint that specific day, it would be best to see it as a conclusion to a specific time, like the end of the Church Age.

Why interpret "365" that way ? Well, for several reasons. The main one being that all the whole global wide world stares at the clock seeking "Midnight" in great expectation, on that last day of the Gentile year. Some are looking for another drink to oblivion. Some are making great plans for the coming year. And then there are those of us who are looking for our Bridegroom to come and take us away at Midnight, just like He said in Matthew 25: 6 + 10.

There are other significant “midnights” in the year. At Passover, the death angel came at midnight for those not covered under the protecting blood
( of Jesus Christ ).

Another reason for that interpretation is the fact that our Lord said He would come at an hour we think not.
( Matthew 24: 44 and Luke 12: 40 ). Most of the Body of Christ have been looking toward a Religious holiday for our Lord's coming at the Rapture. Rarely has one ventured to suppose He would come on such a secular day .. a global drinking day.

But the Scriptures do give some indication that the rapture would be during a time of drunkenness.
1 Thessalonians is the Book referring to the Rapture. And in 1 Thessalonians 5:7  it says:
" They that be drunken are drunken in the night"  and also in 1 Thessalonians 5:6  it says :
" Therefore let us not sleep as do others; but let us watch and be sober."

When Enoch was raptured at 365 years of age, he was taken in the midst of his years. All the other patriarchs lived at least ( if not more ) than twice his age. So Enoch was taken in the prime of his years, when he was a very young man. The prophet Isaiah tells us that in the Lord's Millenium a person who is 100 years old would be considered " a child "
( Isaiah 65: 20 ) . The ages of the people during the millennium are similar to the ages of the Patriarchs in their time.

So Enoch's "youthful" age is indicative of the many Believers who will be raptured before their fullness of age ( infants, youngsters, teenagers, 20 - 30 - 40 year olds etc. ).

The Bible tells us that Enoch "walked with God",  which is another way of saying that Enoch was led of the
Holy Spirit --  that he had his lamp trimmed and lit with the Light and guidance of the Holy Spirit. In short, he was walking in obedience to God's revealed oral Word and to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 25: 1—13.

During Enoch's generation, God's oral Word was what Adam passed down to his succeeding generations during his lifetime.
This is commonly referred to as ' oral tradition'.  Adam too walked with God, and bore witness to God's holy words.

In Hebrews 11: 5 and 6, it tells us that Enoch "walked with God" (that he was Spirit-led) and that he "pleased" God. (obeyed God).
Hebrews 11: 6 tells us what it means to please God. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him."

'Pleasing God' means to have faith -- or Trust -- in God. Enoch not only Believed in Almighty God, he entrusted himself to God's care on a daily basis. He trusted God for all the necessities of life.  He did not fear the future because Enoch believed that God was "a Rewarder of them that Diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

How diligent is diligent ? ... Diligence is an ardent pursuit or preoccupation that utilizes all of one's available time and efforts. Diligence makes plain -- for all to see -- a person's dedication. Diligence is one's adherence and obedience to all that God communicates to that person by His word, through the Holy Spirit, and by other indications throughout one's life.
We 'read' these indications by having the Holy Spirit operate within our spirit, enlightening us as a lamp unto one's feet.
Hence, the phrase "walking with God " ( having discernment ). Psalm 119: 105.

Enoch is (as all Believers are) exemplified by the Salmon that swims upstream -- against the tide -- to his river-home, while the world goes with the flow
( downstream ) . How do we know that ? Well Matthew Henry tells us that after Enoch was raptured, he was not found. He was not found by his friends, nor by his enemies. How do we know Enoch had enemies ?

Because Enoch was a prophet who walked with God. That alone is enough for us to realize that he separated himself from the world ;  and we all know that the world resents it when we don't go with the flow. Enoch the Prophet prophesied in the Book of Jude 1: 14, 15, and 16 that God was coming in Judgment for the ungodly .... not a popular message, in his day or ours.

Enoch foretold that God would execute judgment upon all ungodly persons who practiced ungodly deeds which they ungodly committed, and God would also judge all their Hard speeches which ungodly persons spoke against Almighty God. Jude 15
( Note: "ungodly" starts with "U N ". )

Enoch could foresee the Judgment day to come in the latter times because he lived in a day similar to what is coming. Adam had died about 57 years before Enoch was raptured. Now that the main forefather had passed on, perhaps many felt it easier to slip away from their oral traditions. ( a falling away, backsliding apostasy ).
The many that slipped away from godliness became such an evil generation that God repented that He ever made man. (Genesis 6:6 ).

Enos ( born before Enoch) is recorded as coming before Enoch, and the apostasy was so strong during the time of Enos that people began to pray in earnest to the Lord. Genesis 4:26.

We too are living in times of great apostasy, and we too are calling upon God for help in many of our perilous situations. Our generation is much like the Genesis 6: 5, 6  generation.

It is recorded in Scripture that Enoch's Raptured body was not found, and neither was Elijah's body found after he was raptured
( 2 Kings 2: 17 ).

No one knows for sure when the Rapture will take place. When it does occur, our bodies too will not be found.

We may know the hour ( midnight ) and we may know the season (1 Thessalonians 5).  And we are told in Hebrews 10:25 to assemble all the more as we see the day approaching . It is our belief that when we are assembled together ---with one mind and in one accord--- then we will hear a prophetic message regarding the closeness of the rapture from someone who is gifted with prophesying (interpretation of tongues, 1 Corinthians 14). from the Holy Spirit.

When that time comes, we will be caught up ( raptured, harpazo, natzel ) and thus we shall ever be with the Lord.
( 1 Thessalonians 4: 17 )

Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus !

1 Thessalonians 5:21 commands us to "prove all things".

P.S. In 2 Thessalonians 1:7,8 it hints at the fact that there will be a war at the time of our Rapture. In Daniel Chapter 5, Belshazzar has a huge party ( could it have been bringing in the New Year ? ). Let’s keep in mind that a trumpet (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18 ) will sound at the time of our Rapture. Yet—as told in the Old Testament—a trumpet was sounded to call the people to assemble ( Rapture) and also it was sounded for war. Perhaps the trumpet sounding for us, will also bring forth a war for those left behind. Something to consider.
